There's no itinerary handed to you at check-in, no activities board, no rush. Just two bungalows, a stretch of Guanacaste coastline, and as much or as little as you want to fill your days with.
Wake slowly
Morning arrives quietly here. Light slowly begins pouring in through the upper windows as the sun rises, though the space stays shaded thanks to the large overhang roof, so you wake gently rather than all at once. You'll likely hear birdsong drifting through the trees, and before long, the deep, rolling call of howler monkeys somewhere in the canopy nearby, a sound that becomes strangely comforting after the first day or two. Coffee in hand, step out onto the terrace and let the morning move at its own pace. There's no schedule to keep, no alarm but the one you choose to set.
Cool off
When the heat of the day settles in, the pool is waiting, tucked beneath a canopy of palm trees and a large overhead outdoor roof that keeps the space shaded and cool even at midday. It's less a place to swim laps and more a place to float, read, and let an hour or two disappear without noticing.
Cook on your own time
Each bungalow comes with its own kitchenette, a built-in 2-burner stove, refrigerator, and microwave, along with the pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, and other cookware you need to put together a real meal. Whether that means a quiet breakfast before the day gets going, or a simple dinner after a day at the beach, the kitchenette is yours to use exactly how you like, with no fixed mealtimes and no one else's schedule to work around.
Explore the coast
When you're ready to venture out, Playa Marbella (Playa Frijolar) is just a short walk, and the surrounding beaches are just a short drive away, along with a handful of coastal restaurants worth the trip. It's easy to turn a morning into a full day out, or to just take a quick look at the water and come home for lunch. The coast is there whenever you want it, and just as easy to leave behind.
Return to privacy
A place that feels uniquely yours, with room to expand if you choose. Each bungalow has its own private entrance, an outdoor shower, an air-conditioned studio, and a deck overlooking the palm trees, giving you a genuine sense of separation and privacy for you and your group. Full-length privacy curtains cover the wall of glass doors facing the deck, so you're never visible from outside. Should you want to bring more of your circle along, the second bungalow is right there.
Move at your own pace
Hammocks by the pool give you somewhere to do absolutely nothing for a while. When you're ready to move, there's plenty of open space to roll out a mat and practice some yoga, or if you prefer a bit more privacy, your bungalow's own large, well-appointed deck works just as well, whether that's a slower stretch, or with a quiet coffee, or an evening drink.
Stay connected when needed
High-speed Wi-Fi runs throughout the property, on your terms. Log on when you need to check in with work or home, and log off just as easily when you'd rather not.
Listen to the wildlife
The forest here is never far, and never quiet for long. Howler monkeys announce themselves at dawn, cicadas build to a steady hum as dusk settles in, and every so often, a flash of scarlet or blue overhead means a macaw has passed through. It's the kind of soundtrack that takes over without you asking it to.
End the day beneath the tropical sky
Some evenings call for a short walk down to the beach, where the sunsets here are the real thing, the kind where the whole sky turns over in color as the sun says its goodbye to the Pacific. Other evenings, the pool is just as good a spot to watch the day close out, drink in hand, as the light fades and the stars take over. Either way, once it's fully dark, a full canopy of stars stretches overhead, clear enough to actually see thanks to how little light pollution reaches this stretch of coast.
